About FundedNotes
I spent over a year blowing accounts before a journal finally got me funded.
Hi, I’m Ami, the founder of FundedNotes. I’m not a 20-year market veteran and I’m not going to pretend I am. I’m a trader who started from zero, blew account after account for the better part of a year, and only turned it around when I finally started writing things down. FundedNotes is the journal I wish I’d had on day one, so I built it.
How I started, and how I kept blowing up
I came into trading about a year and a half ago, completely new. I fell in love with it almost immediately. The futures markets, the charts, the idea that you could get good at this and it would pay you back. What I didn’t have was any kind of process. I’d open the charts, see something that looked like it was going up or down, and click. No plan, no rules, no reason I could have explained to you afterwards.
So it went how it goes for almost everyone who starts that way. I’d lose a trade and immediately take another to win it back. I’d have a good day and size up like I’d figured it all out, then give it all back the next morning. I’d trade when I was tired, when I was frustrated, when I was bored. And I’d tell myself “this is the one” every single time. I blew evaluation after evaluation, and when I finally passed one, I blew the funded account too. Multiple accounts, gone.
The worst part was that I couldn’t tell you why. I had a feeling I kept making the same mistakes, but I had nothing written down, so I had no proof and no way to fix it. I was just guessing, and then guessing again.
The journals I tried first never gave me an edge
I knew I needed to journal, so I did what everyone does. I went and paid for the popular tools. I tried TradeZella. I tried a couple of others. And honestly? They never gave me an edge. They were powerful, but they felt like they were built for somebody else. Pages of features I never touched, dashboards so busy I didn’t know where to look, settings on settings. I’d log my trades, stare at it all, and still walk away not knowing the one thing I actually needed to change tomorrow.
A journal that’s too complicated to keep up with is a journal you stop using. That’s exactly what happened to me, more than once. They could store my trades, but they couldn’t make me a better trader, because the insight I needed was buried under everything I didn’t.
So I started keeping it simple, and everything changed
Eventually I stopped fighting with the fancy tools and just kept my own notes, the simplest version I could: what setup I took, why I took it, the mood I was in before I clicked, and how I felt after. That’s it. Within a couple of weeks the pattern I could never see in the moment was sitting right there in front of me. Most of my losses came from the same handful of mistakes, at the same times of day, in the same emotional states.
Once I could see it, I could finally fix it. I stopped trading the sessions I bled in. I cut the setups that never worked for me and kept the ones that did. I went from over-trading every session to a few planned trades a week. That discipline is what got me funded, and just as importantly, what kept me funded.
The thing that turned my trading around wasn’t a signal, a strategy I bought, or a busier dashboard. It was a simple, honest record of what I was actually doing.
Why I built FundedNotes
The tool that worked for me didn’t exist yet, so I made it. FundedNotes is the journal I wanted back when I was blowing accounts: clean, fast, and stripped down to the things that actually moved the needle for me. No clutter, no forty features I’d never open, nothing that makes a brand-new trader feel as overwhelmed as I did. Just the stuff that genuinely helps you see yourself clearly and trade better tomorrow.
I built it as simple as it could possibly be on purpose, because the easier a journal is to use, the more you’ll actually use it, and using it is the whole point. I made it exactly how I like it, and then I made sure anyone could pick it up in five minutes. If it helped me go from blown account after blown account to funded, I want it to do the same for you.
What I built into FundedNotes
Everything in here is something I actually used to turn my own trading around, and nothing I didn’t. If it didn’t help me get funded or stay consistent, it’s not in the app.
- Trade import. Live read-only broker sync on demand (Rithmic, Tradovate, NinjaTrader, DXtrade, Match-Trader), or manual CSV import.
- Mood & emotion tracking.Tag every trade with the mood you were in, your conviction, your mistakes, and what you learned. The thing that costs traders their accounts isn’t the chart. It’s what they bring to the chart.
- Session & time-of-day analytics. See exactly which hours of the day, which days of the week, and which sessions you make money in. The fastest way to a positive month is to stop trading the sessions you bleed in.
- Performance dashboards.Daily P&L, equity curve, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, win/loss streaks, and a calendar heat map. The numbers prop firm traders actually need to plan around.
- Prop firm risk tracking. Per-account drawdown, daily loss limits, consistency rules, and the evaluation → funded → live lifecycle so you know exactly where every account stands.
- Trading plan & strategy notes. Document the setups you’re trading and the rules around them. The trades you journal then get compared against the plan you wrote, and that’s where the discipline comes from.
- MyAi review.Pattern-finding across trades and journal notes to surface the mistakes you’re repeating without realising. The data already knows; MyAi makes it impossible to ignore.
What FundedNotes does not do
FundedNotes is read-only. It does not place, modify, route, or copy trades. It does not provide signals, guaranteed entries, or any kind of automated trading. FundedNotes is for review, analytics, journaling, and risk tracking. It’s the work that happens around the trade, not the trade itself.
